What does orientated mean?

"Orientated" is a slightly formal way of saying oriented. Both words mean:

* To be positioned or aligned in a particular direction or position. For example, "The building is orientated towards the south."

* To be focused or directed towards a particular goal or purpose. For example, "The course is orientated towards practical skills."

"Orientated" is often used in technical or academic writing, while "oriented" is more common in everyday language.

Here are some examples of how "orientated" and "oriented" are used:

* "The map is orientated north-south."

* "The company is customer-oriented."

* "The research is problem-oriented."

* "The classroom is student-orientated."

Ultimately, both words have the same meaning and can be used interchangeably. However, "oriented" is generally the more preferred option in most contexts.
