The basic verb tenses are first person second and third person?

That's not quite right. The basic verb tenses are:

* Present Tense: Describes actions happening now.

* Past Tense: Describes actions that have already happened.

* Future Tense: Describes actions that will happen in the future.

The terms "first person," "second person," and "third person" refer to the subject of the verb, not the tense:

* First person: The speaker (I, we)

* Second person: The person being spoken to (you)

* Third person: The person or thing being spoken about (he, she, it, they)

Example:

* Present Tense:

* First person: I walk.

* Second person: You walk.

* Third person: He/She/It walks.

* Past Tense:

* First person: I walked.

* Second person: You walked.

* Third person: He/She/It walked.

* Future Tense:

* First person: I will walk.

* Second person: You will walk.

* Third person: He/She/It will walk.
