What is the first word babies say?

There is no single "first word" that all babies say! Every baby is different and develops language at their own pace.

While "mama" and "dada" are very common first words, babies may also say things like:

* "ba-ba" or "da-da" (early sounds they can easily make)

* "uh-oh" or "bye-bye" (sounds they associate with specific actions)

* "no" or "more" (simple words with clear meanings)

It's important to remember that babies learn to talk gradually, starting with babbling and then moving on to single words, phrases, and eventually full sentences.
