Who made the first Malayalam dictionary?

The first Malayalam dictionary was compiled by Arnos Patiri, a Jesuit priest, in the 17th century. It was titled "A Malayalam and Portuguese Dictionary".

While this was a significant early work, it wasn't a comprehensive dictionary like we have today. The first truly comprehensive Malayalam dictionary, "Malayalam Lexicon", was published by Hermann Gundert in 1872.
