What part of speech is appeal?

"Appeal" can be several parts of speech, depending on how it's used:

* Noun: A request for a decision to be reversed. *Example: "The lawyer filed an appeal against the court's ruling."*

* Verb: To make a serious or formal request. *Example: "The company appealed to the public for donations."*

* Adjective: Causing interest or attraction. *Example: "The museum has an appealing collection of modern art."*

To figure out which part of speech it is in a specific sentence, look at how it's used and what it's doing in the sentence.
