Is offend to offer contradictory or similar?

"Offend" and "contradictory" are not similar. In fact, they are opposite in meaning.

* Offend means to cause someone to feel hurt, annoyed, or upset.

* Contradictory means to state the opposite of something, or to be in conflict with something else.

For example:

* Offend: "I didn't mean to offend you with my joke."

* Contradictory: "Your statement is contradictory to the evidence."

It's possible to offend someone by saying something contradictory, but these are separate concepts.
