What part of speech is two?

"Two" can be a few different parts of speech depending on its context:

* Numeral: This is the most common use. It represents the quantity of two. For example, "I have two apples."

* Adjective: When describing a noun, "two" acts as an adjective. For example, "There are two cats in the yard."

* Pronoun: In some cases, "two" can function as a pronoun, referring to a previously mentioned group of two. For example, "I saw two birds, and two flew away."

It's important to consider the sentence structure to determine the correct part of speech.
