What part of speech is lose?

"Lose" can be two different parts of speech depending on how it is used:

* Verb: This is the most common use. It means to be deprived of something, to fail to keep, or to misplace something.

* Example: "I lose my keys all the time."

* Adjective: This is less common but still valid. It means "free from, exempt from, or not subject to something".
