What is accusative pronoun?

An accusative pronoun is a pronoun that acts as the direct object of a verb or the object of a preposition. In English, accusative pronouns are the same as the objective pronouns:

* me

* you

* him

* her

* it

* us

* them

Here are some examples:

* I saw him at the store. (him is the direct object of the verb "saw")

* The teacher gave us homework. (us is the indirect object of the verb "gave")

* She talked to me about it. (me is the object of the preposition "to")

Important Note: In English, the accusative form is only used for the object pronouns. The nominative (subject) pronouns are used when the pronoun is the subject of a verb.
