Where does the word Credo originate from?

The word "credo" originates from the Latin phrase "credo in Deum", meaning "I believe in God".

This phrase is the opening line of the Nicene Creed, a statement of Christian belief formulated at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. Over time, the word "credo" came to be used as a general term for any statement of belief or faith.
