What does the word sedentary mean?

"Sedentary" describes a lifestyle or activity that involves sitting or lying down for long periods of time, with little or no physical activity. It's often used to describe:

* A person's lifestyle: Someone who spends most of their day sitting at a desk, driving, or watching TV is considered sedentary.

* A type of activity: Watching TV, reading, and using a computer are all sedentary activities.

Examples:
