Where does the term brainstorming come from?

The term "brainstorming" was coined by Alex Osborn, an advertising executive and one of the founders of the advertising agency BBDO.

He first used the term in his 1948 book, "Your Creative Power". In the book, Osborn described brainstorming as a group creativity technique for generating ideas by encouraging participants to think freely and without judgment.

He believed that by suspending criticism, individuals could come up with more innovative and unconventional solutions to problems.
