Does the word fausty exist I am not sure spelling is correct but have heard it in Newfoundland Canada and also on tv. It suppose to mean foul smelly evil. Any thoughts?

You're likely thinking of the word "fausty". It's a Newfoundland English term that means "musty," "stale," or "foul-smelling." It's not found in standard dictionaries, but it's a common word in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Here are some examples of how "fausty" is used:

* "That old book smells fausty."

* "The basement is fausty and damp."

* "The air in the room was fausty after the party."

The word "fausty" is likely a variant of the word "fusty," which has a similar meaning. However, "fausty" has a more specific Newfoundland flavour and is often used to describe a particularly unpleasant smell.
