Is crafty an antonym of foolish?

While "crafty" and "foolish" are both adjectives describing different qualities, they are not direct antonyms. Here's why:

* Crafty: Means clever, skillful, and often cunning, usually in a way that involves deception.

* Foolish: Means lacking in good sense, unwise, or silly.

Antonyms of foolish could be:

* Wise

* Intelligent

* Sensible

* Prudent

Antonyms of crafty could be:

* Honest

* Straightforward

* Naive

* Open

In essence, crafty and foolish describe different aspects of intelligence or lack thereof. Someone can be crafty without being foolish, and vice versa.

For example, a crafty thief might be able to outsmart the police, but still be foolish for robbing in the first place.
