Conjunctions
* Coordinating conjunctions: join words, phrases, or clauses of equal rank.
* and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet
* Example: The sky was blue and the sun was shining.
* Subordinating conjunctions: join a dependent clause to an independent clause.
* because, although, if, when, while, since, before, after, as
* Example: Because it was raining, we stayed inside.
* Correlative conjunctions: work in pairs to connect elements of equal grammatical rank.
* both...and, either...or, neither...nor, not only...but also, whether...or
* Example: Not only did he play the piano, but also he sang beautifully.
Interjections
* Express strong emotion:
* Wow!, Ouch!, Oh no!, Hurray!, Yikes!, Goodness!
* Mild expressions:
* Well, Oh, Hmm, Hey, Ugh, Whew
* Informal interjections:
* Like, Man, Dude, Seriously?, You know?, Okay?
Note: Interjections are usually followed by an exclamation point, but sometimes a comma is used for a milder effect.
